iMapWeather Forensics is a division of Weather Decision Technologies, Inc. (WDT). WDT was formed in 2000, by a team of meteorologists and scientists, previously employed at the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), for the purpose of supplying cutting-edge weather information and technologies to businesses and individuals. The founders of WDT, including Michael D. Eilts, President, have a combined 100+ years of service at the National Severe Storms Laboratory and other key organizations within the Oklahoma Weather Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Over the years, WDT has grown to over 70 employees with offices and representatives in Norman, OK (headquarted on the Research Campus of the University of Oklahoma situated next to the National Weather Center), Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, OR and Arlington, VA. For further information on WDT and real-time weather products and services, see our corporate site www.wdtinc.com.
WDT’s iMapWeather Forensics was started in August 2001, with the launch of HailTrax Reports. The creation of HailTrax Reports and follow-on hail products were developed to meet the needs of insurance claims adjusters and claim managers, Catastrophe (CAT) teams, roofing engineers and roofing contractors, who needed a scientifically accurate address-specific report to verify the present or absence of hail at locations with roof damage or siding damage.
Building on the WDT strength of supplying superior quality weather data, the team expanded the offering to include forensic reports of wind, precipitation, tornadoes and hurricanes. In 2006, LightningTrax Reports and LightningExpress Service were added to further the forensic weather offering.
Our team of professional meteorologists and staff is led by Sr. Meteorologist Matt Gaffner and is dedicated to providing meteorologically accurate forensic weather verification reports. The Director of Sales and Marketing is Lynne Lawry. Contact us at 888-255-7099 or click here for additional contact information.
