NORMAN, Okla. (August 30, 2007) LightningTrax reports and the LightningExpress Service provide on-line, address-specific, lightning verification and now these products have three new features for ease of use and enhanced value.
Lightning Stroke Data in Excel Format
A simple click of a button during the LightningTrax order entry process sends you an email of the .csv format list of all lightning strokes detected by the USPLN for the requested search. The .csv format is directly importable into Excel. Applications for this feature include efforts to identify particular strokes responsible for a lightning outage or loss.
Sorting of Lightning Strokes by Distance or Time
Choose to see the strokes of lightning data sorted either by distance (closest to search center to furthest away) or by time (earliest to latest stroke).
Simplified Reorder Process
Ordered a LightningTrax only to find out later that the lightning event was on a different day? Reordering a LightningTrax is now available on-line with no re-entry of address information needed.
The accuracy of the USPLN allows for a precise search radius of 1 mile, with accuracy of the data on the order of 200 yards. LightningTrax and LightningExpress are ordered on-line and a completed report is available for viewing within minutes. The reports are also stored on-line as a .pdf for later retrieval, viewing and electronic filing. The USPLN database of lightning strikes goes back to May 1, 2005.
LightningTrax Reports sell for $95 for an address-specific (or latitude/longitude coordinate) search of lightning activity within 1 to 15 miles of an address for up to a 72 hour period. LightningExpress Service is an annual subscription allowing for unlimited access to LightningTrax reports with management tools for monitoring and analysis of corporate utilization.
