What kind of snow reports do you offer?
Snow reports are customized to your needs. We can provide snow observations
measured by human observers, estimates of snow depth and accumulation
from models and radar algorithms run at WDT, estimate snow load, or
help determine the presence of snow and/or ice for a slip and fall.
Can you provide expert testimony for slip and fall cases
or other legal matter?
Yes, we have 3 Certified Consulting Meteorologists (CCMs). The CCM
certification is awarded by the American Meteorological Society to
professional meteorologists after undergoing rigorous written and
oral exams. This certification is the highest certification given
to consulting meteorologists and recognizes the meteorologist as an
expert by his/her peers.
How accurate are iMapWeather Forensics' snowfall reports?
The accuracy of the snowfall report depends on the types of snow data
available and the proximity to your address. To provide the most accurate
snow reports available, we can use data from human observers, weather
models that estimate snow variables, and radar derived estimations.
We have access to the most comprehensive datasets available.
I need to verify snowfall over a large area, not just an
address. Can you do that?
Yes, we have many tools and datasets that allow us to analyze snowfall
over large geographic areas including the continental United States.
Check out our SnowExpress®
product.
I need to verify daily snowfall totals at hundreds or thousands
of locations across the Unites States. Can you help?
Yes. SnowExpress® is specifically designed for the purpose of
verifying snowfall totals at locations all over the United States.
With a complete list of the addresses you are interested in, Weather
Forensics can send you daily spreadsheets with new snowfall amounts
for each location along with other weather data including low temperature
and wind speed (to account for drifting).
How much do snow reports cost?
Since our snow reports are customized to meet your exact needs there
isn't one answer for everyone. The most basic reports start at $300
and generally include the nearest observations of snowfall and snow
depth along with a written summary of the weather conditions by an
expert meteorologist. We always contact you to discuss your case before
starting work, and we provide a price quote for the work that will
need to be done.
