HailExpress™ Service
HailExpress™ Service is WDT’s round-the-clock hail monitoring service with a daily* report of hail activity for regional (state**), multi-region or full continental U.S. coverage. HailExpress™ Service can be obtained for a 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month period. HailExpress™ maps display hail data overlaid with county boundaries, interstate, and U.S. highways. City level maps are provided for all cities with populations of 100,000 or greater. The city maps contain all data from the regional maps plus streets, rivers/streams and water bodies. The service is provided in .pdf format and delivered to a WDT provided webpage for password protected access by customers.

The technology that powers HailExpress™ produces accurate hail swaths represented on a high resolution map including color contours depicting where hail fell and the estimated hail stone size from 3/4” up to 2” (large hail) and 2” and greater (very large hail).
- HailExpress™ is created Monday-Friday for the previous 24 hour period. All weekend data is available for customer viewing by 5pm on Monday.
- Each state is a region with the exception of TX, which has a north region and south region, Delmar (which comprises of Delaware, Maryland and DC) and New England region (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island).
HailExpress Service is most often utilized by insurance company claims departments and catastrophe (CAT) teams. HailExpress provides valuable input to assist with handling catastrophic hail events, allowing for better planning, resource deployment and claims management. Other applications of HailExpress include industries needing to serve hail victims, including roofing materials manufacturers, roofers, automotive dent removal companies, etc.
