About Us
Weather Decision Technologies, Inc. (WDT) was formed
in 2000, by a team of meteorologists and scientists for the purpose
of supplying cutting-edge weather information and technologies to businesses
and individuals. The founders of WDT, including Michael D. Eilts,
President, have a combined 100+ years of service at the National
Severe Storms Laboratory and other key organizations within the Oklahoma
Weather Center in Norman, Oklahoma. For further information on

WDT’s forensic weather products team of meteorologists

Prior coming to WDT, served as the Assistant Director of the National
Severe Storms Laboratory, where he grew the Stormscale Research and
Applications Division from 20 people and $900k in external funds in
1994 to the present 99 people and $7.4 Million in external funds.

- Dr. Richard Carpenter, Vice President for
Numerical Prediction Technologies has 6 years experience
managing Advanced Regional Prediction System operations for the Center
for Analysis and Prediction of Storms. (Ph.D. in Meteorology, Univ.
of Oklahoma, 1994)
- Bill Conway, Vice President for Custom
Technologies has 15 years software development and project
management experience at NCAR and NSSL. (MS in Meteorology, 1990,
Univ. of Oklahoma)
- J. T. Johnson, Chief Technology Officer
has 11 years management and software development leadership experience
at the National Severe Storms Laboratory. While at NSSL he was instrumental
in the development of the Warning Decision Support System (WDSS) and
several severe weather detection and prediction algorithms. (MS in

- E.DeWayne Mitchell Senior
Meteorologist; Lead Forensic Products Manager. DeWayne’s background
includes 12 years as a research associate and software developer at
the National Severe Storms Laboratory. His duties have included the
development of automated techniques to identify severe storms using
NEXRAD Doppler radar. He is our key technical representative on all
WDT forensic technologies, services and products. (M.S. in Meteorology,

Lynne Lawry, Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Prior to forming Nimbus Weather Technology in 2000, she spent 10 years
with Global Atmospherics, Inc (now Vaisala TS Group). Lynne spearheaded
the development of forensic lightning reports and was the Applications
Manager and Insurance Industry Manager for the National Lightning Detection
Network (NLDN) forensic lightning products. Teaming with WDT in
2000, has resulted in the development of WDT’s forensic products
line, with emphasis on hail and lightning. Currently, Lynne has all
sales and marketing responsibilities for WDT’s forensic weather
products.
